Sallyanne Morrison - Optometrist
Hello. I am Sallyanne Morrison, the Director and Principal Optometrist of Morrison's Family Eye Care Centre.
After gaining my Bachelor of Optometry degree from the University of NSW with Honours, I worked for a few years in a Paediatric Eye Clinic in Perth Western Australia. Being born, bred and educated in Dubbo, the lure to return to NSW, and be closer to my family was too great. In 1992 I started my own Eye Clinic in Dubbo, where I have been in providing eye tests ever since (a total of eighteen years) and I still love what I do.
My professional Optometric interests are in prescribing and problem solving all the issues associated with contact lens wear. I also really enjoy assessing and treating children's vision problems. During 2009 I stared my Post Graduate Diploma in Ocular Therapeutics; this course will run till mid 2010. The course will allow me to not only diagnose, but to treat anterior eye conditions such as conjunctivitis, removal of foreign bodies and objects from eyes, corneal ulcers and in-growing eye lashes.
Outside of work I have a keen interest in rural business, rural health and rural cultural development. In the past I have held director's positions and Vice Chairman's roles on the Board of The Dubbo City Development Corporation. I am also the Australian Optometrists Association's Central West Media Liaison Officer.
In my spare time I keenly enjoy keeping active and fit and via netball, basketball and touch football. Most recently I have taken up that frustratingly great game; golf and try and get out for a hit as much as I can.
I enjoy spending quiet time around our home with my family and our menagerie of pets. They keep me grounded and young at heart.

Joshua Williams - Optometrist
Having been born and raised in Dubbo, I first became interested in Optometry back in 1999 when I completed my year 10 work experience with Morrison's Family Eyecare Centre. This lead to Saturday and holiday work and then into University, completing my Bachelor of Optometry with Honours in 2006.
Morrison's have supported me by providing me with a scholarship to attend the University of NSW to obtain my undergraduate degree. I am currently studying my Post Graduate Diploma in Ocular Therapeutics which I will complete mid 2010. This gives me the opportunity to expand my clinical knowledge and the ability to provide treatment for eye conditions; such as Glaucoma and Uveitis.
Living away in Sydney has really highlighted the advantages of working and living in a rural community. Morrison's have supported me all the way and now they have provided me with this wonderful opportunity of working back in my home town with family and friends. I look forward to building on these previous relationships, creating new ones and playing an active role in Dubbo's community.

Joyce Chan - Optometrist
I’m Joyce and I completed my Bachelor of Optometry degree from UNSW with Honours in 2008.
I was born in Hong Kong, but my family migrated to Sydney when I was three years old. I moved to Dubbo to work with Morrison’s in January 2009 after Sallyanne convinced me that Dubbo was friendly and a great place to live. So far it hasn’t disappointed!
Since arriving in Dubbo I’ve become involved in many sports including touch footy (go team Morrison’s!), martial arts, tennis and soccer. Through these activities, I’ve made some great friends and I always look forward to meeting new people.

Rodney Morrison - Optical Dispenser/Manager
I actually started in optics the day Morrison's Family Eyecare Centre began trading in 1997. I was working for Xerox as a senior service technician. I completed an apprenticeship as an electrician and worked for Dave Allan Electrical for 5 years after becoming qualified.
I have since completed the Optical Dispensing Certificate IV and really enjoy the challenges and rewards of working in a modern, fashionable industry like optics. Each day is a new and rewarding one, as lens technology and frame designs change to suit fashions and needs of our demanding society.
I am currently studying a Diploma in Ophthalmic Practise Management. This course is a scholarship from the Optical Dispensers Association. This course will provide me with an extensive array of skills and information on managing the operation and promotional side of Optic’s. Eye care is getting more and more technical and my qualifications allow me to understand these advancements and relay them to our customers.
Outside of work there is sport, I love to watch and play whatever I can and what time permits. I am best known as a cricketer and hockey player. Sport is a great past time and keeps me fit.
I am a long suffering Sharks supporter, 2011 could be our year I hope.
I have a young family which I love to spend time with. Especially on Sundays when I don't have sport and nor do they.
